Why walk away ? I have had some great buys on gumtree but only buy stuff if the phone no is genuine . Ring the number and collect in person you can't go far wrong. If they want bank transfers and other scam style payments then walk away.
Thanks everyone for the info yup I think it's time to run as fast as possible in the opposite direction to this fellow. It's annoying as there are lots of good reputable sellers on Gumtree and eBay but you just need a few bad ones to put folk off. Thanks agin to everyone I will just keep looking in the background as it's not an urgent requirement.
Why would you send money for a big ticket item ?? Buy locally or be prepared to travel hand over the money as you collect goods that you are satisfied with!! Surely you would want to see an engine running anyway ?? No engine no money simple.
