WANTED: Handheld VHF

After a cheap waterproof handheld VHF, Cobra perhaps?

Would rather buy one from a forum member before going the ebay route!

Cheers

This HH125 fits the bell if that helps...

The Cobra is ok for occasional use, but anyone who uses a handheld a lot will really benefit from the build quality of a Standard Horizon.

As I have said many times before, I have a HX370 which I have used every day for the last few years. Sometimes just listening out on Shoreside 80 while at work, sometimes doing proper boating. In all of this time it has never once let me down.

Appreciate what you are saying but the unit is just for occasional use, and may get abused hence just a cheap one is all that's needed.

My experience with cheap H/helds is: you can pay about 130 quid and or pay about 80 quid. With the first option you spend 50 quid on a cobra realise its crap and buy a S/Horizon, with the second option you miss the cobra out.

Just so you are aware the HH90 that J S is suggesting is not waterproof, and if I remember correctly doesn't have a 5W output. The HH125 looks like a much better bit of kit - but given my experience with Cobra still wouldn't be a consideration.
