nice newish engine too. Just hope it's genuine and not just some scam! I suppose if you payed through paypal (who favor the buyer) then you would be pretty safe anyway. Will give him a ring tomorrow and see if he will get down on price as that is too much for me as it stands. 1600 I might be able to bear!

I think a 50 would if it was propped correctly? I don't know though tbh, I suppose you dont know till you try it.

The 60hp is the same engine as the 50hp merc so you could easily get away with putting 50hp stickers on there for insurance purposes

They do go in favour of the buyer unless the buyer arranges the courier themselves, in that case they automatically side with the seller

I'm happy to take a look at the engine if you want? I'm in Aberdeen on Monday so could drop by after work. If it's any good I might put an offer in myself. You can let me know Henry.

I don't have kit to do a compression test, but can certainly give it a visual once over and check.

Worth throwing this into the mix. Mariner 2002 ELPT 50hp 4-stroke. Out-with budget... but that's what banks are for. Sainsbury bank offer pretty competitive short-term loans at decent rates. http://www.seamarknunn.co.uk/download/usedob/used.pdf
