Quicksilver controls

Hi guys, I have a Mercury quicksilver control box for my merc 150 but the handle has snapped. If anyone has a handle or knows if I can buy one new I would be very grateful. I need one with trim switch by the way.

Ian

Hi Ian

Is it the commander 2000 box as I think I have some knocking around, 8 pin adapter if I remember rightly ?

Handle (used with ptt switch) on it's own will £200 plus delivery! Discount of £180 for a Ribnetter hide

Hi Peter and thanx for your response. Don't wish to sound ungrateful but the complete control box is around a hundred and fifty of your British pounds in the US. Yes I know I have delivery and the gravest pissibolity of another confrontation with the Douanes but still......... Thanx anyhow. On the other hand if you are going to chuck in an outboard with an arse bigger than my ex wife's then that, of course, would be an entirely different cuttlefish!

Np. Out of interest what price did you think I offered it to you at ? Maybe I confused you with my attempted comical price of £200 minus the "rib net discount"

The actual price I quoted was £20 plus delivery. Maybe I should have just said so rather than arseing around with the mega discount!! Anyway it's no problem. I thought £20 was reasonable considering I'd be breaking a perfectly good box which I would have don't if it helped you out.

Your right though. Shop around and you can pick up a bargain. I've just bought a nearly new one in the UK for £85. Always worth having just in case.

I can throw in an engine (allegedly) if you collect it. It's a 2001 Honda 75hp minus it's gearbox, PTT and most of it's fittings. What's left has been swimming in the sea at least twice! I could do with it gone but I warn you it's not worth the hassle. I'd not want to use any of what's left other than the hood or a few minor fittings.

Oh I see the problem now. Delivery would cost you quite a bit if your not in the UK which agreed would make it better to buy an entire box.

The offer of the free motor is still open though

Oh Peter I'm proper embarrassed now sorry mate! I somehow read discounted to £180 and hence my stupid response. Commander 2000? I have an 'orrible feeling the 2000 had the squareish boss and mine is the round one prolly making it the 4000?

If I'm wrong and it is indeed the correct handle then I'll snap yer 'and orf at 20 nicker!

Mine looks like this:

eBay - The UK's Online Marketplace

Errm..... regarding the honda - It'll be a no from her indoors methinx as we have so little storage down here she didn't even want me to buy another handle!

Lol I did wonder! Teach me for trying to crack a joke. £180 for a handle me thinks is a bit ambitious.

Mines the square type, but I think they are interchangeable. Yours just looks the newer design. I'll dig out what I have and take a pic for you!

Peter
