Paper charts.

I'm wanting a detailed paper chart for Carradale to Campbeltown across to Arran. Where & who's the best place to get one ?

Not sure how you plan to get there, but most chandlers on the west coast will stock them.

If it's for idle perusal before your trip I may have an old one kicking about in the attic. Shore facilities & some of the bouys will be way out of date, but the sea bed won't have moved much!

Duncan Chandlers in Glasgow should be abe to send one out mail order. (and they had them on the shelf 6 days ago!) Thre usual Scottish suspects on here also likely to be able to help.

Thanks for that 9D280. It's mainly to have a look for decent fishing marks when we're up there for two weeks in August, We always catch loads of mackerel, small cod and dogfish but I remember being taken out from Peninver as a lad & catching cod of around 10lb+ by an old lad who lived there!!I'd love the kids to get into something big.
I'll give Duncans chandlers a call but I'm more than happy to pay you for anything that you might have that'll do the job?
PM me if you have a price in mind.
Thanks again.
Tony

Whilst on this subject, does anyone have a chart for the Tay estuary ? I loaned mine out to someone who has since been posted. No idea where to get a replacement as i was given it by a skipper in Arbroath 12 yrs ago.

Sorry - forgot I posted on this one.

I'll dive into the attic tonight, check what I have & PM you.

Harry - two places I would try are Davie on here & the place over the other side & Port Edgar. I have found as a general rule finding a local chandlery to the water you need the chart for is usally the best bet!

If you just want to look, I'd suggest joining Free charts, tide tables and pilotage : from Visit My Harbour which is amazing value (one off £25 fee) and great for printing up to date chartlets for what you describe, and for emergency backup.

Thanks for that 9D280. I'm not bothered if it's a bit out of date with regard to markers etc as it's really to find some idea of fishing areas. We're a bit of a coast hugging lot and don't tend to go more than half a mile from the coast but if the weather's kinder this year we might have a blast down to Campbeltown.
Blew strong southerly for the first week last year and got too much for the family & I nearly lost a couple of fillings so we're hoping for better this year!!
I'd rather put a few quid in your pocket if you have anything!!
