new to ribs need help

just aquired a rib need to replace something but dont know what it is called so cant order it basically it is the tape that seals the join between the hull and the tubes it has a few scuffs and i would like to replace it can anyone help by telling me what it is called and where io can purchase it from

any help would grateful

It is usually made from strips cut from a roll of tube fabric. This is a very important part of the rib structure and it should not be interfered with unless absolutely necessary. If it is superficial scuffing, as you say, then you can touch it in using a paint designed for the job. If it is seriously worn away or it is coming adrift, then a repair is necessary.

thanks for the reply can u tell me what it called so i can get some if i decide to do it also the paint and if there is good website for it ,its a big learning curve for me

hi was reading on some pages i searched on this forum that the thing i need is call hypolan impregnated tape,on the rib which i am talking about it is about 10 cms wide is this same thing as what u said
