New Jockey Console Seat

I have a bog standard single seat Jockey Console on my Zodiac 4.2.

Yesterday, after a rather heavy landing (with a rather heavy driver) the plywood base of the seat has split. Its nothing special, plywood covered with about 1" foam and then vinyl stapled over the top. It does the job.

It seems I have two options now. Firstly to replace the plywood and attempt the reupholstery myself or secondly to get a new seat that might be a little comfier.

Is there any advice you might offer either about a DIY solution or somewhere who might be able to supply the seat only at a reasonable price.

Cheers

I was down at 'Race Marine' in Taunton (01823282662) recently and noticed he's got a few USED RIB pod seats knocking around,I think singles and doubles.May be worth giveing him a ring, ask for Steve.

RIBase
There's also Outhill. Outhill Boatbuilders - British designers, manufacturers and suppliers of high quality Boat Seating and Marine Components

Incidentally, I was checking out Zodiac stuff on Ebay and noticed there was a 7-man Pro cover on there just now. This stuff doesn't come up to often, so might be worth checking out.
