Mercury Optimax 250hp XL 2012

I am selling my 250hp Optimax XL. New in May 2012 it has done 165 hours and has had the 20 hour and 100 hour service.

Its kept out of the water and flushed after every use. It comes with 4 & half years Mercury warranty remaining. The prop is a Mercury 19 pitch. Comes complete with smart craft gauges & oil tank with extra long hoses so you can fit under a console. I use Honda controls with it which can be included for £100 but they don't have in gear start protection!

I'm Looking for £9,900. Reason for sale it that I am getting twin 150 Opti's yum!!!

Surprised none of the more qualified than me members haven't asked but are you changing for performance reasons?

Hi Mick
I'd guessed at only a small gain or possibly none at all and assumed it was for other reasons but it was the 'Yum' in Redthunders post that had me wondering.

Would this be a step too far for a 6.5m Tornado? Currently running an Opti 150 which is fine but always room for a touch more power....

It depends on what its rated up to. I had a 225 on a redbay 6.5 and it would do 48 knots.
