Hi
Has anyone got a servicable starter motor for a Mariner 50hp fourstroke? I think it is a 98 model.

Thanks
George

May be of no interest but I have a starter for a 125hp and know some parts are interchangeable with different engine sizes. If no good try flea bay as loads on there.

Millplus
The wires to the commutator of the armature have come adrift and jammed between the main body of the motor.

Low Flyer

Have tried eBay, but only available is in the states where postage more then price.

I'll attach some photos tonight as your 125 may well be the same

George

Is it not something an autoelectrician could sort for you?

In the olden days of having ancient cars that died at frequent intervals I'm sure I've had an alternator armitage re-done and possibly a starter motor?

Example: .: Starter Motor & Alternator Company :. says they can offer repair?

That was the olden days. We are in the throw away era now. I have taken to a repair shop, but they can't do anything. I might attempt my self, but don't fancy a failure when I am somewhere remote.

It's not just the throw away era, it's the litigation era as well, that looks salvageable depending how bad the back of the comm is. Whether anyone would want to actually repair and risk leaving you stranded is another matter. Is it Paris-Rhone?
