Mariner 15hp 2 stroke *side gear lever*

As per title please - if anyone spies a Mariner 15 hp 2 stroke for sale please let me know.

Preferably mid-2000's in well cared for condition but *must* be the traditional side gear lever type (not the more common built in tiller gear shift).

Any reason it has to be Mariner? Finding a decent 15hp 2-stroke outboard is hard-work in itself. There's a Mercury 15hp here. Not sure if its a side mount gear shift changer or not.
John Bridger Marine (used outboards).

Mine is a 2001 Max and it has the twistgrip gear/throttle combination. As far as I knew they were all like that from some point in the mid 90s or even earlier. As far as I'd noticed you have to go back to the grey models with orange decals to get a side shift.

Like this era... http://www.smalloutboards.com/images...mike/side2.jpg

I'm wondering though if the remotes fitting kit brings the gears to an external lever like the old ones.

I would agree the gears on twist take a little while to become natural but to be honest I never think about it now.

BTW as mentioned above the black Mercury is exactly the same engine.

Cheers guys, yes a side gear is available though less common, it was the standard RNLI Y Class fitting but I understand it was a 'civilian' option too, otherwise spec is exactly the same. As mentioned the Merc is the same but I'd just prefer a Mariner as it's destined For a Y.

I've got the chance for a 2001 model at around £875 but it's a little cosmetically challenged paint wise on the cowl.

[edit] Bejesus, just seen Bridgers price!?!! OK it's a 2008 and I'm fully aware of the used 9.8 and 15 2 smoke prices but £2k?! they're having a laugh There are plenty of 15's I've seen going for 1/2 to 1/3 that price (obvously a little older but only by a few years) and you still get the real bargains, a Mariner 15 2000s at £350 was advertised Saturday, too far away for me sadly.
