Thanks but 28 quid a pot seems a bit steep...

Think there new?

Most people selling them want pots collected so £13 delivery is not too bad.

Have you tried your local fish quay or harbour?

I live inland so no, but the lads I worked with in Ireland recently were selling good pots for about 15 euro a pot inclduing rigs so I´m kicking myself for not loading some in the car then!

Its not urgent so I´ll keep an eye out on my next few outings and see if anyoen has spares to sell..

Bargain. Good luck with the search.

Have you got your pot tags? You can get a maximum of 5 for private use from local fisheries office.

No. Thanks for the information. That´s new to me!

I will look into that? Do you know any other legislation etc that Í need to comply with? I know the minimum size limits etc and its personal use only...

I think each local authority has there own requirements.

On the North East coast we can have 5 pots for our own use, all pots must be tagged. Were limited to one lobster per day as long as it meets the minimum size...

When I collected my tags they gave me a small guide book.

They were really helpful, very pleasant and even took my 7 year old son through to see there RIB and Landy.

Make sure you do check before you start as above each area has different byelaws.

It may have changed with new legislation and the marine bill etc. but for example in Sussex you were only allowed to take 2 lobster per person (aboard) per day.

And anglers/DIY potters/etc ARE subject to the same laws (and penalties) as commercial fishermen.
