Yep, What he said. Mid 80's to '92 at the latest.

What do you mean by 'cylinder 1&2 running at 100% cylinder 3 running at 90%'?

Intentionally or not, you're selling something with incorrect details and people will comment on that.
I think you need to check that engine out before selling it as good. If that's PSI, the engine might as well go in the bin.If it's a percentage, a 10% drop on compression on one pot is bad too.

oh well it's just come back from Adoran marina and they said it was good and that the power was excellent as for the engine this age as well as the condition of the engine.

Yep i am sure it does....
We are only trying to help! I am sure you dont want any comebacks from selling an engine with poor compression and passing if off as being 5 years newer than it actually is.

As NOS points out if those compressions are PSI then your rings are shot,
however if they are % then thats not as bad however, assuming that the two good cylinders are 140PSI then the lower one is 125PSI, that could be a sign that one cylinder has run with a partially blocked main jet and scuffed slightly, or a ring is broken. I am afraid a compression result like that doesn't tell you too much, it could run for many many hours like that,
it may even come back to 100% if its a gummy ring, or worst case scenario, if its a broken ring, the ring could exit the exhaust port and its "Goodnight Vienna"

If I were you I would give it a good run and re test the compressions,Hot and Cold, get the year right, and re-advertise it. It will probably be a good engine for someone.
Good luck with it

I don't think he's gonna sell it on RIBnet thanks to you guys!

I think you lot should have PMed him first and pointed out his errors and let him correct them in reasonable time before posting comments on his for sale ad.

I know your'e probably right, but he did ask in post 3.
I just answered the question he posted prompted by sams comment.
I am sure he will sell it, it looks tidy enough, he just needs to verify the compression test results and get the year right.
