Hi there

I've got a powerhead from a 2006 (black/red model) 2 stroke. May be available. It's complete with everything inc electrics, carbs. The lot.

The motor came in to me in 2009 as a faulty one. All I knew is that it was seized. It's since been opened and found that the oil drive gear had failed possibly by not being run in correctly. Its now been replaced. My engineer had suspected it may have been submerged but that was never confirmed. Since then it's been stripped and rebuilt. The internals seem great now with excellent compression. We have a spark etc. The only thing stopping me from running it up is the carbs are blocked solid with old fuel etc.

I'd consider selling the entire powerhead or the whole engine to include a mint leg, PTT, gearbox etc. It's done no more than 10 hours!! The PTT is worth £400, the gearbox similar, well I'm sure you know anyway!

I'd prefer to buy your carbs though any chance ?

Location is Plymouth, Devon

Hi Peter, just a thought - has your engineer considered using some seafoam in the carbs? I have had amazing success with this product!

Hi there

Im not sure. I think they've just been put aside whilst other projects get looked at. That's why I was going to buy replacements...or sell the whole rig so it's put to some use. I've had it sat a while as it is!

I'll check into that though thanks for the heads up

Yes it's worth a shot for 20 quid. It was originally invented for just this purpose and it's never let me down yet!
