2.2KW Generator Briggs and Stratton

I've had this Clarke 2.2KW Generator for a few months now, and it's just too big for what I need.
It's the second time I've brought one off ebay that's too big and heavy, so this time I'm looking to swap it for a smaller capacity one.

This is an older Clarke Power 2.2Kw model, but that's good as it uses the reliable Briggs and Stratton 4-stroke 132232-4014-01 Engine.
It has 240V and 110V outlets plus low oil light etc.

I've run my 650W power drill off it several times without any problems, but haven't found the need to run anything bigger off it.

I suppose I would sell it, but I'm looking for a swap more than anything.

I'm looking for a good quality unit, over 750W and up to about 1200W. that I can throw in the back of the car when I'm working on my boat at the yard.

I have, and do use one, but prefer my Bosch corded drill as it's more powerful with far better torque control etc.
Also I don't have a Cordless router.

Anyway, every real man should have a generator.

You fellas are definitely using the wrong cordless gear. Go look at the Milwaukee range. The 28v Combi would take a house down. My go to, which lives in my truck is 12v L/ion. In low gear its gutsier than most 18v. The Milwaukee 18v and 28v would break a wrist if badly handled. However, If humping trannys is your thing, crack on.

The Milwaukee mission statement is to make the best cordless equipment in the World. The rest are racing towards B&Q/DIY build quality.

Hitachi are OK.

Mollers

The consideration I have, as always, is cost.

I have a good selection of quality Bosch corded power tools, the cost of a used genny is nothing compared to the cost of replacing all my tools with high powered cordless ones.

I've been asked a couple of times by PM what I'd take for it as a sale.

Bearing in mind it's 2.2KW, and uses the reliable B&S 5HP 4-stroke engine, it's got to be worth £120ono.

Oh, and it will need collecting from Clanfield or Havant, Hants.

Why not get an inverter if it's only occasional use

Because a good quality inverter of @1KW is an expensive bit of kit, and I'd still need to run an engine, ie the D3's.

Anyway, it's now sold, to somebody on a different forum.

£25 upwards on ebay if it's just running a motor then doesn't need to be too fussy about power output as there pretty tolerant of different voltages etc
Wouldn't use one to run anything sensitive but drills grinders etc should be fine

The first line made me snigger! I have a Hitachi cordless angle drill and it almost 25 years old and it gets used many ties a year and its super.

BTW I have a Diesel Genny so I only hump big tranny's!

I hauled a Briggs & Stratton genny out a skip not so long back, its actually a Briggs engine with a SIP genny. Engine is a cracker but it wasnt generating. One £3 capacitor later its going like a Gaelic song.

Can't beat a skip bargain.

I've got a Honda EM 650 suitcase unit on the bench at the minute, its proving to be a bit of a mare.
