160mm drainage pipe

hi guys, I'm looking for some orange underground drainage pipe to make a container for my diving O2 cylinder. It's sold in 3m lengths which is way too much for me, I only need 0.65m. Any tradesmen out there have an off cut lying around? The alternative is that I make 4 and offer them to any fellow divers on here? very happy to share the costs. For an example (and at £125.....) Marinox do a specific one but oddly enough it looks very like 160mm drainage pipe ;-)

I have any amounts of offcuts here after a sewage job we did on the estate, unfortunately I'm at the other end of the country from you, unless you know anyone that is/would be up this way to collect it for you?

Always the same, had some a few days ago! Someone took it away for exactly the same use.. Were occasionally asked for it but can never source it in short length.

BSAC dive forum and The Dive Forum would be a great place to sell these on if you do make some up.

Only tricky bit I can see if ensuring its watertight with a valve in the lid for air expansion.

I thought these would be used in boat only as storage....

The relief vent is a dry suit cuff dump. I presume the top is a 'normal' screw threaded end cap and the base a solvent welded blank end. I have the proprietry one if anyone wants some detailed photos to help fab one

Thanks guys. Still on the hunt. I have sourced the screw ends and solid end caps. I can also get hold of the vent valves. Just need the pipe. As I mentioned earlier I'm happy to buy a 3 or 6m length and make more than one. All I would ask for is to share the costs. I have a template here so can guarantee that they will be solid and watertight (if a Military Engineer diver and ex plant fitter can find a big enough hammer :-))

a length of pipe will only be £15-£20 quid, are you Scottish?

They are, but need to be kept watertight or things soon rust, fail, corrode etc.

Depending on the cost of one the club may be interested.

Thanks for your help guys, I've found some I think. Would have grudged spending £125 on some drainpipe and a few fittings!! Will let you know the final cost when the bits arrive (and if it survives on the boat) if anyone else is interested. Thanks again. Mick.

Good call but a little too short I'm afraid. Thanks anyway.
