06 Mariner 5hp 2-STROKE L/S - Only 1-hour freshwater use in Antarctica!!

Hi Guys,

Just arrived in the UK is my wonderful 2006 Mariner 5hp 2-stroke long shaft outboard.

I bought this engine from the British Antarctic Survey after it had been in storage since 2007 when it was used for 1 hour on a freshwater lake bed sampling raft in South Georgia Island. This engine has not been used AT ALL since then, so internally is BRAND NEW. The engine was sensibly stored with all fuel removed. I have just this week changed the gearbox oil.

Only storage scuffs and marks...

Runs absolutely perfectly as you would expect.

Offers around £650 for a practically brand new 2-stroke outboard...

Just a quick one - I have put long shaft on here, but on second thoughts I am not absolutely sure. The leg is 28" from the base of the shift lever to the bottom of the skeg - any idea what this constitutes?

Matt.
