Hi all,
Our GPS (Lowrance LMS350A) has recently forgotten all the waypoints we have stored. I guess this means the internal battery has died.
Silva said "send it in, we MAY be able to change it, but parts are becoming difficult to obtain".
Anyone been here before? I'm tempted to open it up and have a look, but might be dissuaded if anyone has horror stories of leaks, or fogging etc etc.

Although this isn't a solution, it is possible to backup your user data(waypoints, trails, routes, icons, etc) on to your memory card on my LMS 320, so it may be possible to do the same on yours. It will at least prevent you from losing any more info.
Just go to Menu--System Setup--Transfer My Data--Save (or Load if you are restoring data you've previously saved)

Worst case solution if Silva haven't got any spares there are marine electronics companies who specialse in repairing units that are difficult to fix.
There has been a few names in PBO in the last few months.
If you can't find them drop me a pm.

Thanks for replies.
swginn, think your GPS must be a bit posher than mine, no sign of a memory card on my unit!
Will send it to Silva early next week, and let you all know of outcome.

Sorry to go slightly off thread, but the viper I have just bought has a Lowrance LMS-350A fitted. Now does anyone know whether you can obtain a power supply lead to run it off 240v mains, so I can program me waypoints from the comfort of my living room. Or should the back up battery be sufficent when fully charged?????
Thanks in anticipation,
Martin.
