Garmin GA 29 Antenna mounting

I'm about to mount a remote antenna for my GPS 550s.

From the installation instructions it states "Mount the antenna at least 3ft away from the path of any radar beam or a VHF radio antenna".

The radar isn't an issue (not planning on fitting one!), but the mounting plate on the top of my A-frame isn't that big, so i'll not be able to get the separation from my VHF antenna the instructions suggests.
I've has a trawl through the "rib gallery" section...and there are a few photo's of GPS antenna's mounted close to VHF antenna's...

Will this be a problem?...and will it effect the operation of the GPS?...

Thanks
John

Mine is only a few inches away and there seems to never have been a problem...............

I have a Lowrance antenna mounted about 2 or 2.5 feet from my VHF antenna (and probably at about the same height as the radiating elements in the antenna.)

Only time I've had a problem, I attributed it to the SF Bay Radar service. The VHF causes no problems whatsoever. Radar sets (especially big ones) do.
