Yet another question for you guys! I'm going to move the battery to my console, and move the isolator switch from the bench seat to the console. To do this though I first need to remove it from the bench seat. I've studied and don't know how it works?
Thought that before I tried brute force I would ask the forum.
Pics below.
Thanks in Advance

Does the large ring on the outside not unscrew?

The hex nut type thing on the outside may unscrew if you remove the key and hold the body on the inside by the terminals

The thing is I can't work out how to remove the key. It turns and pops out a bit, but then doesn't come out anymore - brute force? What tool would I use for the hex key? Is it possible to bodge it with a pair of pliers/vice grips?

This type of key is meant to be removed and I'm sure that with a bit of experimentation it will turn further than you can get it to enable you to extract it from the Isolater, try pushing it in again and turning a bit more.

Upon trying to remove it more I suceeded in breaking a bit off the key - either it isn't meant to be removed or corrosion has locked it in.
What tool would I use to try and turn the hex nut?

Masking tape around the fibreglass (to stop it marking) and then an adjustable spanner on the flats of the nut

Try turning the key anticlockwise till switched off and then push in and turn anticlockwise again while still pushing the key in. It should turn then come out, hopefully!
