I had one of those idle moment musings the other day ( not there is time for many of these in my day :D).
What is the legal or just plain commonsense requirements for radar on a RIB. How are such installations regulated; do Ofcom get involved?
Has anyone any experience in this area, not that I am thinking of a set for myself, just at the moment

Just installed radar on mine. Raymarine RD18 linked to an E80. Works great. I thought I was being extravagant at the time, but having used it I'd miss it now. Just add the set on to your VHF licence, I did this on line on the Ofcom website. You need to get it as high as you can & keep passengers at least a metre away to stop it from frying their brains. Use a Scanstrut or custom bracket on top of your "A" frame to gain height.

will you be taking JK out on your boat? :D
No legal carriage requirement. But if you do decide to fit RADAR it does change your responsibilities in respect to avoiding collisions.
