New Battery or New HH VHF?

I have an Apelco VXL-501 HH VHF that now, this season, seems to refuse to take and hold a charge :(

Anyone know of a place to get a replacement at reasonable cost or should I be looking at a replacement :(

If a replacement, what should I get for the open wet diving RIB? The VXL-501 lives in an Aquapak even though it is 'splashproof'. Should I go 'completely' (is there such a thing ;) ) waterproof?

I have a fixed VHF as a main set, this is a backup.

Cheers,

Orve.

Ditto - great value for money and fully waterproof - even has the option of running of AA batteries if rechargeable is FUBAR

Hi Guys you all seem so keen on this unit I have to ask 1 question before I go and listen. Can you hear it?
My previous HH was so quiet I was actually glad when the kids left it in the dinghy and it got nicked!

Yes indeed, very good audio in terms of quality and volume. Way better than most.

You can also get a good range of speaker/mics to go with either the 500 or 370 versions.
