Rib wanted location N Irelandhugh black 08 August 2001, 21:56 4.5m to 5.5m Rib wanted.Must be in excellent condition with good engine and trailer etc. For family use (2 adults and 2 Children) batfalcon 10 August 2001, 05:13 I recomend that you must forget the 4.5 m and focus on the larger size. You see I used a boat like the one you want to buy (GOMORIZZO 4,5 & YAMAH 50), but when the 2 kids (twins) were added to the family's population it was impossible to make long journeys or vacation with that boat. Now we have one Bat 9 Falcon X (5,50 m) and things are more comfortable by far. Michael (bat_falcon@hotmail.com) hugh black 22 August 2001, 22:49 Thanks for advice. I'm now coming round to 5m plus for boat. What about engine size for this size and would it be worth waiting for a 4 stroke instead of 2 stroke? Pete7 30 August 2001, 19:21 Rib for sale in Belfast. 2000 Ribtec 5.35 with 70 Hp Evinrude and roller coaster trailer £8000. Pete7@tesco.net batfalcon 31 August 2001, 07:25 If the boat is 5 m plus (about 480 - 530 kg net) you must consider for 100 Hp plus engine, WITHOUT ignoring the manufacturer's recomendetions. As far as the 2 or 4 stroke, it depends on your wallet. 2 strokes are cheeper but drink to much. On the contrary 4 strokes cost much more and drink much less fuel. I think about 25 - 30% less. 2 strokes are much easier to maintain and have punch in acceleration, but 4 strokes are quieter, cleaner, and "enviromental friendly". If you are going to participate in races, having a 4 stroke you propably see the sterns (or the smokes) of the 2 stroke powered. All the above are facts. The decision is yours. Michael geoff 04 September 2001, 21:04 I used to have a 2 stroke engine. My new RIB has 4 stroke engine. Go for a 4 stroke every time. Its quite, economical and reliable, unlike 2 strokes.
