A bit of help please!
I've just been down to view a rib with a C80 chartplotter on it, but the screen was so dull you couldn't see anything really. The Screen looks scuffed as well.
Anyone have any ideas why? its only 2 years old

I would guess that its the anti glare coating that is scratched rather than the surface, I had the same problem as they did have a problem with this for a while and the coating was a bit soft, I was lucky i sent mine back before the warentee ran out and its been fine since, i have also heard that it can be removed with an amonia based cleaner but have never tried it out myself.

...the screen was so dull you couldn't see anything really.Apologies if this is obvious, could the backlight have been in night viewing mode or simply need the brightness increased via a menu option?

Maybe stupid, but has it still got the film of protective plastic over the screen from the manafacturer, looks like you coul dpeel it off.
