I've found MES to be very good

As a follow up, I can also give advise on where not to purchase a Bluechart CD from:
www.marine-chandlery.co.uk also known as Adrenaline Chandlery
Despite several e-mails to clarify exactly what I wanted they sent me a Bluechart Data Card rather than the CD. They have a problem with their supplier, which is not my problem, and they are saying that the supplier won't take it back, despite it still being sealed.
I have had to revert to Visa's legal services to sort it out so that I can resolve it.........be warned!!!

Hi Guys,
Always worth mentioning good service etc. I have just used these guys www.mesltd.co.uk
to buy a new Garmin GPS. I got a great deal on the equipment and it arrived within 5 days.
I would reccomend them if your looking for a new GPS or any other electrical equipment.
Cheers

I would have nothing to do with them or their other business Cactus. They are fine until something goes wrong.
They sold me a Raymarine VHF with only the USA channels - it was a grey import.
Even worse they were threatening me with court action because of a problem that was NOT my fault. I ordered all my electronic kit from them and it was sent to the boatbuilder. DHL lost the DSM300 fishfinder so after a lot of chasing Cactus sent a replacement. DHL then managed to find the original and sent it at the same time!!!
The boatbuilder being a complete arse wouldn't send the replacement back - he said that if Cactus arranged collection he would. This went on for quite some time and then Cactus/MES started sending me some very nasty letters. I had some very heated phone calls with their MD and he just didn't give a damn.
As far as I am concerned I paid for ONE fishfinder module - it is their fault they sent 2. I didn't sign for it and yet it was me they were chasing.
What got me more than anything was their couldn't care less attitude. Not only have they lost me as a future customer but many of my friends as well.
Cowboys springs to mind!!!

If it does don't worry because Garmin themselves are excellent.
MES/Cactus are just box shifters - they are owned by a Yank company so no wonder they bring in so many greys!!! Thats' why their prices are so good......
