New RIB Catamaran, twin Yam 115. Have a new Navman and the depth will not give a reading lower than 3000ft when the engines are running? I dont know if its because its a cat and it may be closer to the engine, doesnt seem any closer than on a normal v hull. Any suggestions?

Lowrance seem to have some quite powerful echo sounders but even they are pushing it over 120 metres, and couldn't find the bottom of the under water trench off the back of Rathlin Island, the UKs deapest underwater cliffs at 180m Why do you need to see the seabed at 1000m ?

..lol no, i dont want or have any need to see that far. That is what my sounder is reading at present, when in water about 20'. Im going to adjust the angle tomorrow and see how that works

I suspect the wiring for the sounder has been taken off one of your engines. Try running the echo sounder directly from one of the batteries.
