Waterproof Kit Bag

Loads of people sell 'em... mine are "Ortlieb" and they're bloody good bits of kit... search on "google" for local outlet :thumbs:

These are great. I keep one on the boat which I used to use as a bergen liner, very useful, very dry. Not a fancy kit bag but much easier to stow.

You'll often find them in camping shops, I got a couple branded "highlander" they are not in the same league as Ortliebs but were stinking cheap at £6. If money is no object talk to a tube manufacturer and get some made up hypalon, they'd be almost indistructable and could match the boat, better still if they are an exact fit for your console or jockey seat box.

Depends on exactly what you want and the size of hatches/storage spaces!

We have had a couple of cheap dry bags which lasted about 2 years before starting to leak, and an Ortlieb which has lasted three with no problems, so we replaced the cheap ones with another two Ortliebs.

The rucsac style shoulder straps are excellent, and save a lot of struggling up ramps and slipways with your hands full of luggage and gear.

Stockists aren't particularly easy to find - we ended up getting them from a cycle shop in Manchester - I think it was here: www.withingtoncycles.co.uk

bag is 10 years old and has had much hard use. looks like a heavy pvc - not far off hypalon. still good as new...

I have had a Ravenspring drybag for 5 years now and it is excellent. It has housed my camping gear and clothes on a trip to the Scilly Isles and can even be taken into the water as it floats. Will keep your kit totally dry.

Hi Andy I have the Musto bag it's great .
Also a Large dry bag by Ocean Safety for waterproofs
and a gul small bag as a grab bag

Best is the Musto easy to get to all my kit without having to take most of it out

Looks like it will have to be the Musto bag! Ideally, I would like something I could wear as a back pack so that I could ride to the boat on my bycycle.

Any thoughts?

These Ortliebs (as described by my other half, above) are great! I notice the Musto bag only has one shoulder strap which would be more awkward on a bike than the Ortlieb which is more like a true rucksack.

P.S. They're not difficult to find on the net - just put 'ortlieb x-plorer' into Google and there are plenty of stockists. :thumbs:

I really like the expedition line which is total waterproof and RED :)

4) Find and press "HEAVY DUTY" picture of men with inflatible.

5) Press "Expedition Tech Line"

I use the Expedition Red 5L to my wallet, phone and other personal items.
and then I have both the Expedition Red 90 and 120, for my and the crew clothing.

I have written a number on each bag. Then each crew or guest get their own bag. When I have new guest on board they will each recieve a bag with a dedicated number on it. Inside the bag there will be a Inflatible lift west, sailing clothes or survival suit, depending on the time of year, then the guest can change and put thier own clothes inside the bag, this way they will be nice and dry when we return.

I also get a nice price on them :D
