On my aged Yamaha 115 2-stroke, the trim/tilt relays are in a separate box near the battery.
They have now failed (nothing sinister - just old age and dampness!) At least being close to the battery I could just bypass them with a jump lead as a workaround.
It was suggested to me there shouldn't be a problem building a new unit with a waterproof box and replacement relays. The wiring certainly isn't complicated.
However, can anyone tell me the correct rating for the relay to power the trim/tilt motor? Looking at the Aquafax and Index relays, I'd think the heavy duty 180A ones which have the post connectors rather than tabs.
I'm assuming there's nothing special about the Yamaha ones?
Any other thoughts on this?
Thanks
Mike
