The Spirit of Portsmouth has departed for the third leg, the crossing to Nanortalik in Greenland.

Alan and the crew are reckoning on 48 hours at sea for this 608 nautical mile leg.

The ice has become looser, and should be 100 miles away by the time they reach Greenland -- unless they are followed by an ice field!
